Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! KTCC introduces me to a “new” artist and now I must investigate further. I really like him. Reminds me a great deal of another artist I’ve championed here, James McMurtry. Maybe they’re neighbors in Austin. And it goes without saying that Slaid has to be one of the best first names ever!

im6,
I can’t believe I haven’t posted Slaid before this as I have an album or two. I’ve liked him for a long while.
That resemblance didn’t occur to me until you mentioned it.
It is a great first name!

I agree with im6, interesting “new” artist, I like his voice and have to find more later. Quick grocery shopping first, I ran out of ice cream.
im6, James McMurtry was recently on npr World Cafe with songs from his new album just in case you’ve missed it:

Meanwhile I’ve heard his Where’s Johnny?, still not the original yet but as part of an 1991 Austin Cactus Cafe concert/radio recording.

Birgit,
Hmmmm, ice cream, one of my favorite desserts! I think that’s worth a trips to the grocery store!
