This is probably my favorite “summer” song of all time — and there are a lot of them to choose from, too. For whatever reason, it just makes me relaxed and happy and seems to capture the lazy. sleepy feeling I like to associate with long, warm days and nights. Funny that this song should get my blue ribbon, too. I don’t particularly like War or any of their other songs and you’d think the award would (surely!) go to a Beach Boys song. But no, this is at the top of my chart. I guess summer has officially begun now that this song has been played. Earlier this week, I was planning on designating June 1 as the start of summer and was hoping I’d be able to hold out until then to crank up the A/C. Alas, I finally had to give in the other night and turn them on. It feels like the same thing may happen today. With all the rain lately, the humidity is keeping me dripping wet. At least I can sweat while listening to this lovely tune. Deck (or in my case, balcony) weather, indeed.

im6,
This song came from my From Larry folder and the date is 2008 when it was added. That was the first time I remember hearing it. You sent songs every now and then you’d thought I should hear and this is one of them.
I have turned my bedroom AC on twice. Both times it was because Gracie was panting so heavily. She shook the whole bed every time she panted then gradually the AC cooled her and she fell asleep. My bedroom is on the third floor and gets the afternoon sun so it is usually hot all summer.
