      Spaceman,
I don’t remember which one, but one of his books was a textbook for me when I was in college.

I really liked this article. My blog is my book sort of. I love to write, and it gives me that opportunity.

I have a copy of “On Writing Well” around here somewhere. Zinnser loved the english language yet stressed simple writing and direct writing. Zinnser would have liked your posts. Colorful yet short simple sentences. Not littered with extra words

      t,
Are you wondering about the quote? Is you are, the Quote is from Gertrude Tooley Buckingham, “The Four Seasons” (1940s). You can always find the quite source under the picture.

If not the quote, let me know the E.B. White question.

E B White wrote The Elements of Style. I believe it was the 1940s? He believed in simple and direct. I must give credit to his co-writer. William Strunk.

White was part of the original staff at the New Yorker. The author of Charlottes Web. And so much else. From your neck of the woods. A fellow New Englander. Dry wit. Keen observer. Try One Mans Meat. Essays of life on his 40 acre farm.

        t,
I totally forgot about that book. I read and remember well Charlotte’s Web and Stuart Little.

Thanks for the suggestion as I haven’t read One Man’s Meat.
