Unbelievable that this song is nearly 50 years old.
Speaking of old folk music heroes, Buffy Sainte-Marie (now 74) has a new album and it’s currently available for streaming on NPR First Listen. Incoherent style and song mix and too much electronics for my taste but her voice is still strong and sooner or later I will buy it anyway. I simply can’t let down my old folk music heroine 🙂
The new Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell album is also available on this site but I haven’t listened yet.

Birgit,
Given how old I am, I can easily believe it has been 50 years.
I am a yes and no Buffy fan. I like more of her earlier music than her latter. I bought her traditional albums and did not buy those that were electronic as they were not to my taste either. She actually grew up in the town next to mine before returning to her Indian roots.
I love the first Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell album so now I am listening to the link you so kindly added. I really like the title song.
