This is very different from the song I know. It takes bound for glory and runs with it. I like the difference.

I like the start with the record player and the crackling sound of the record.
The tune is easily recognized on this too.

I thought it had an interesting accompaniment and vocals. The lyrics departed quite a bit from versions one typically hears. “The congregation answers back with ….” Song was a Woody Guthrie standard and adopted by other folkies such as Peter, Paul & ….

I only knew this as a folk song, and it was Peter, Paul and Mary from whom I first herd this version. The Limeliters I found later. PP&M were my gateway to folk and I went back in time from them to hear all the earlier singers like The Weavers.
