    Some interesting history to this song as well as Tommy’s other big hit, “It’s All In The Game.” Mr. Sun was originally released in 1952 and went to #22 on the charts. (That’s the version here on KTCC.) Game was originally release in 1951 and went to #18. Then in 1958, Game was re-recorded and went to #1; Mr. Sun was re-recorded in 1959 and went to #11. I wonder how many songs have made similar journeys by the same singers? Here’s the 1959 version, which is a bit more polished.

      The second version is definitely polished compared to the original. I usually don’t like re-released songs, but I do like the second version more than the first.
