Lots of announcements today from everyone’s favorite Senior Citizens.

Sticky Fingers is to get a Super Deluxe Reissue which will include “Get Your Leeds Lungs Out” (not like I haven’t had a bootleg copy of that for ever) AND the boys will be bringing their show to 15 cities in the US including Comerica Park on July 8th.

I don’t think that I can summon up the energy for another singalonga “Midnight Rambler” and I am very suspicious of the reissue of Sticky Fingers as Mick has a tendency to want to redo the vocals and that failed horribly on Exile.

The very last 401K tour for Keef and Mick and Ronnie and Charlie ? We shall see.

I am humming Stones, you had better hurry up and post some music

      My Dear Hedley,
I have to say I do not have Sticky Fingers, and it isn’t on my list; in fact, I have no list. I have been lax in purchasing new music of late.

Thank you for the release news. I appreciate what is coming and your review of the new music.

My weasels are surfacing and asking about going to Comerica to see the Stones, I am not being postive

        MDH,
I figure you need to see them before they take Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven.

Actually Kat, I am playing the newly remastered Led Zeppelin “Physical Graffiti” during my never ending commute. It might be the best of all the reissues so far by Jimmy (Epsom, just like Petula and me) Page.

        It absolutely rocks

Hum ba dm bm daba dmmmh… <- humming Stormy Weather. Billie H version.
Storm Niklas is raging. Trains aren't running, some roads are blocked, rain, hail, sun in between, trees try to run away, thunderstorms are expected in the evening. Not as bad as the last storm but I'm glad that I don't have to leave my home sweet home today.

      Birgit,
That is the best version. Sorry I’m missing hearing you hum!

Raging storms I know well and, like you, home sweet home is the place to be. Stay safe and warm and dry!

      Birgit

What I am really humming is Steven Wilson’s “Hand.Cannot.Erase” specifically “Perfect Life”

the album is SO fab gear I cannot tell you, better than front row seats and back stage passes to a Bert Kaemfert concer

Hedley, thanks, new to me, I found it on YouTube. First impression is that it’s not my music, especially the drums (drum machine?). I tried the title song which I like a little bit better but it appears to me that the instrumental music prevents me from listening to the vocals. I switched to live concert videos now, – way better! Some reminiscences of softened late King Crimson. Still listening…

      • Hedley's avatar Hedley Says:

Birgit, there is definitely a touch of prog rock in this album, so your King Crimson comment is very much on target

News from the gossip factory called internet: Joni Mitchell is in intensive care, she was found unconcious but was alert on her way to the hospital.

So does this have to do with anything? Cynthia? Joni? Sticky Fingers? It *appears* to be just such a random video to post, but your mind works in such odd ways sometimes and I don’t get the connection. I have to say I’d never heard of these two, but my hunch was correct that Mike Sarne turned into the director, Michael Sarne (“Joanna”). The song is such a pre-British Invasion slice of vinyl. We should all thank The Beatles, The Stones, etc. for replacing this cornball silliness with music a bit more substantial.

      • Hedley's avatar Hedley Says:

im6, There is no logic or connection, I was just going random. Hope that you enjoyed it, novelty songs were quite popular for a while.
Wendy was much better known as an actress – You would most likely have known her from the series “Are you being served”

My random contribution for today. She & Him (Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward) backing up (really, MORE than backing up) Brian Wilson on a song from his forthcoming “No Pier Pressure.” Can’t you just feel the sand in your toes?
