Great music today!
I was curious and looked up this title. Traditional Scottish love ballad and Cowdenknowes is near Edinburgh, not really a surprise.
More interesting was broom because naturally I fell into the broom word trap. Now I know it’s the lovely common plant we call Besenginster. If you translate both German word parts back into English you’ll get broom-broom. I also didn’t know that this nice plant is considered as dangerous invasive species in some parts of the world including northwest America because it harms the forestry industry.
Just to confirm that KTCC is educative in many ways 😉

Birgit,
Thank you!
I have broom shrubs in my front garden, Scotch brooms. They are really pretty when they bloom. The garden center sells them by color. If they grow wild, it is sometimes by the highway or in fields.
Thanks for the German name!
