“Late again when I get home…”
True today, it’s about midnight and I just returned from a folk music concert in a pub in a neighbortown. Ray Cooper (ex-Oysterband) solo, great singer, musician (guitar, cello, mandolin) and songwriter I hadn’t heard live before. He also talked and sang about Sweden where he lives now in a village and included some Swedish dance tunes on the cello. One song was inspired by Swedish men who happily live with their animals in red cottages in the middle of nowhere and sometimes have a fish pond just for fun. Can’t remember the name of the song but this song fits the season:

Birgit,
The description of the Swedish men in the red cottages sounds a bit like Christer. He lives in a village, has 4 dogs and I think a fish pond. He is amazing with plants and flowers and takes wonderful pictures as he and the dogs walk around the bogs and fields and woods.
I love the cello in this song. It provides the perfect mood. I also really like his voice. Thank you for this song!

Kat, Christer was my first thought too, that’s why I wrote about this song, I also follow his beautiful photo blog. I’ll have to search for this song online when I remember the title again. I still knew it when we left the pub.

Birgit,
It is amazing that Christer is part of a culture which is exalted in a song. That the cottage is red is a huge coincidence. Maybe Christer is the inspiration as so much is his life.

Birgit,
I am listening now. The theme and even his voice remind me a bit of Stan Rogers. The lyrics are beautiful.
Thanks for finding this!
