And album of the year and rock album of the year it is. Goodness knows I have been woofing on and on down the KTCC about the wonderfulness of this offering from Beck. St Vincent also got the nod for best alternative album of the year.

While I was thinking that now I have as much cred as im6, given the grammy went to Morning Phase, the prat Kanye West jumped up, insulted Beck and threatened never to appear again. It just gets better and better.

This was my album of the year and Wave is my favorite track. Mrs MDH and I also saw Beck down the Fox in the summer when he was fab in concert.

Whatever next, Eels live at the Royal Albert Hall to get a grammy next year ?

      My Dear Hedley,
I swear I had posted Beck before this. You prompted me and I bought 2 albums including Morning Phase. I do listen to you.

I didn’t watch the Grammy Awards as I really don’t know all that many current musicians. I did see the Kanye West stupidity on-line. He should be banned: interruptiongate.

I am glad I posted this song if only for you!

I felt Morning Phase was something special, discrete, thoughtful, approachable. Its been a long trip with Beck – my daughter grew up yelling about two turntables and a microphone. I have no idea what sort of sale bounce a grammy gives, but hopefully more will enjoy it.

Here is something from the very beginning and my kid

        MDH,
I think I would have liked him from the beginning, but he does look seventeen. I understand the playing over and over-I do that with albums I love. Your daughter was starting her musical education!

Kat, I just had lunch with her, and after I had posted the song here, I sent her the link – this was her response

I got 2 turn tables and microphooooooooooooone

The story gets even sadder now that Beck has said he basically agrees with Kanye. Diminished my opinion of Beck just a bit, but, then again, he offset that by being such a class act about it. Kanye would never have been so kind and humble. Kanye, his wife, her family and anyone associated with him are complete asshats as far as I’m concerned. I was never really a Beck fan until Hedley began his lobbying here on KTCC and he was right. “Morning Phase” is a gorgeous album — possibly the most gorgeous of 2014 — and deserved the nod. I never really paid much attention to him before that, but have since also added “Sea Change” to my music library. FWIW, my favorite track is “Morning.”

      im6,
Sea Change is the other album of his I have. It was Hedley who introduced me to Beck and had me buy Morning Phase. I am pleased it is the album of the year as I think the Grammy voters recognized it was amazing. Kanye needs to be muffled.

Love Sea Change as well. I do hope that you flirt around with the catalog. Sample Midnight Vultures and The Information and Guero and Modern Guilt. You will find an artist of extraordinary talents who has been somewhat obscure until last nights gong win thing.

Odelay was a disc that my children loved, maybe it was the doggie on the cover and maybe it was two turntables and a microphone.

My son did meet Kanye in a restaurant in Birmingham Michigan a couple of years ago and he was more than pleasant. I don’t care much for his music but hey what do I know ?

      MDH,
You are the reason I have both albums, and I am willing to try more because I like very much the music on the two.

I suspect it was turntables and a microphone.

Not only do I not care for Kanye’s music but I also dislike his going on-stage and harassing Grammy winners.
