Very much a part of the Sixties soundtrack, as much as the protest and rock and roll songs.
Thus it must be — Kat and the spawns, like Kirk and the Klingons, Holmes and Moriarty, etc. The eternal struggle!

Jay,
I’m chuckling. Your last sentence is wonderful. I do think of it as the eternal struggle. I think I might have envisioned a way to keep the spawns from returning. It has to do with wire, not electrified, on y deck rain so they can’t jump to the feeders.
Simon and Garfunkel, Joni, Judy Collins, Joan Baez and so many more are indelibly sewn into the fabrics of the 60’s for me, starting in the late 60’s.
