Love Is Just a Four Letter Word: Joan Baez
This morning im6 reminded me yesterday was Joan Baez’s birthday. Though I’m late in paying homage, I still felt it I needed to post Joan. I use her first name because after all these years we must be friends. Joan turned 74.

I also forgot her birthday though she was my hero back then. Four Letter Word was among the first songs I recorded from TV, one verse sung as funny Dylan imitation.
Just this morning I had to think of her when I listened to the song Black Is The Color by another singer on NPR. This new rendition is quite different and I think it’s interesting:

I totally forgot her birthday, and I chastised im6 for not telling me ahead of time.
It is an interesting rendition. I would never have guessed it was a Baez song if I heard it first. I think it will take another listen or two.
