We Three Kings: Ella Fitzgerald
Today is the Epiphany, the Feast of the Three Kings, and I decided to do something I haven’t ever done, posting different versions of the same song. Please enjoy!
I apologize for the music delay, but I had to go to PT. I didn’t want to go. I wanted to stay home in the warmth of my house. It is so cold my nose will never get warm.

Kat,
It’s great to have multiple versions, especially beginning with Ella! Thank you. Isn’t it amazing how an American clergyman in the mid-19th century could write a tune that sounds so middle eastern?
Here is an over-the-top-production for your amusement on the feast of the Epiphany:

Wow, Mark, when you said over the top you were not exaggerating. The set is amazing.
I love the song as written, but it seems every singer personalizes, and Mary K. tops them all. This is a lovely song which doesn’t need any embellishments.
I think the word choices are what makes it seem to Middle Eastern.

This has long been my favorite Christmas carol but it is seldom heard anymore. I thank you greatly for these.

Cuidado,
I always play it on the Epiphany, and you can always come on by to hear it. I’m glad you didn’t miss it.
