Bauvard quote

Tram driving hasn’t changed that much, many people stare at smartphones or tablet PCs now. The latest trend is to hold an open beer bottle in your hand on public transport. Don’t ask me why, I’m probably too old to understand it.

Birgit,
Carrying open beer bottles is illegal here. I can see a dare with the ones on the tram. On our subway, there isn’t anyone official on the individual trains so the miscreants wouldn’t get caught unless someone gets off at a station and complains.
I haven’t been to Boston for a while so I haven’t been on the subway much, but I’m betting it is the same as your tram.
