“Games lubricate the body and mind.”
Okay, yesterday I was a woman of my word. I didn’t even get dressed. Most of the day I lolled. Today I need to get my laundry out of the dryer where it has sat for at least a week then I can do another laundry which will also probably sit for a week. I woke up at 10:20 this morning because I didn’t go to bed until three. I just wasn’t tired. Mostly I watched Doctor Who and then finished my book.
Winter sunlight is muted and seldom warm but still welcomed. It is here again today with its frame of blue. I was out on the deck to stop a barking Gracie, and though it isn’t as warm as it has been, it is still warm for late December. Gracie has been out most of the morning enjoying the yard. She has yet to take her morning nap, a most unusual occurrence.
One of favorite Christmas presents was my bike. I was around nine or ten. When I came downstairs Christmas morning, I saw it beside the tree leaning on its kickstand. I knew it was mine, not my brother’s, because it was a girl’s bike. I remember that was the Christmas of no snow, and on Christmas morning I was glad. I’d get to ride my bike. When I took it outside for the first time on the day after Christmas, my mother took a picture of me standing beside the bike holding it by the handlebars. I have the biggest grin on my face. I remember how proud I was riding my new bike.
Every year we’d get a new game. On Christmas day, after dinner and seeing family, we’d set up the new game by the tree, lie on the rug and play. If we didn’t know the game one or the other of my parents read and explained the directions as we went along.
I give my friends a new game every year, my way of keeping the tradition alive. It’s getting more and more difficult finding real put your hands on the pieces games instead of video games, but I usually am lucky to find a couple.
I love game nights, our weekly get-togethers. We have appetizers and drinks. We have moaning and cursing. Sarcasm rules the evening. Someone is always dubbed the loser with finger L on forehead. Sorry and Phase 10 are the usual games. Phase 10 is civilized. Sorry never is and never has been. That’s the fun of it.

Hi Kat,
Two days after Christmas and I’m still lolling around. Even the dogs are lolling around. We didn’t get out for the first walk of the day until well after 8 AM and that’s when I noticed it was trash day. I hadn’t put mine out yet. The walk was just quick enough for the basics. We did go out later on when it was warmer and that was a much more pleasant walk.
My laundry is still in the dryer but it has only been there since Christmas morning. It can go another day or two.
I’m happy to continue to loll. What is Christmas for if not to celebrate heartily and then loll afterwards? 🙂
Enjoy the day.

Hi Caryn,
I’m still lolling too. I haven’t even taken my shower yet.
Gracie is finally on the couch for the first time all day.. She has settled down for her long winter’s nap.
I’m with you in the continue to loll mode, but I vow to get that laundry I figure that’s enough of n accomplishment for one day.
Loll and have a great day!

I still haven’t done much either, been out using my “new” old camera´, taking walks with the dogs and Bertil and I’ve eaten lots of candy 🙂 I have however washed a few clothes so I can continue to do nothing for a few more days 🙂
Long time since I played any of those games, people don’t do that much any longer it’s video games or nothing. I’m not much for those to be honest. I play mahjong on mycomputer though 🙂
12F here at the moment and I think it will drop some more before the night is over. Fog has rolled in too so I hope it stays until tomorrow, the entire day since we won’t get any sunshine anyway 🙂
Have a great day!
Christer.

Christer,
I love this doing nothing trend. I can’t think of anything I have to do except I do need cream for my coffee. I may be forced to go out this afternoon or maybe I’ll put it off until tomorrow.
We play games whenever we are together. It is fun. I play cribbage on the computer.
I saw your snow when I peeked at your blog. It’s been coming a while. You predicted it.
That’s too cold! We are in the 40’s today, down from the 60˚ we had Christmas day.
Have a wonderfully unbury day!

I hit the ground at speed. The ornaments were generally returned to their original boxes, the tree and lights are in their containers resting quietly in the basement for another 11 months. It’s done and the house is sort of back to normal
The Prince is reading “A Bear Called Paddington” to me, it’s nice and we are getting ready for the movie release on January 16th.
Tomorrow will be sportscentric as Tottenham begin the day at 7.00 am with the visit of the front runners favorites Man U, and concludes with the Detroit Lions trying to plant Angela Rogers and team Cheesehead. Might be a great day, might not. doesn’t matter really, these are my teams
Finished the new Kynaston and have made a gigantic swing to read “Bobby Moore, the Man in Full” by Matt Dickinson. met Bobby a couple of times. the book is fab gear.

My Dear Hedley,
My tree is lit in the living room. It will stand a bit longer. The gifts are still underneath. The fake tree in the dining room, the ugly one, will stay until Little Christmas. The real one won’t make it that far.
Tomorrow the Patriots play at one. The game really doesn’t have any significance except Bill says all games are important. I think, though, he learned his lessons a few years back when he lost Welker for the post season, injured in the last game, the one with no meaning.
Enjoy the games tomorrow!

Latte Motion

Gnu,
The video was wonderful, and I love the song; however, it did give me an almost overwhelming yen for latte.
The last part showing the latte stencils and how the faces were made was really interesting as was that they used 1000 cups of latte.
