They are really different sounds but neither better than the other-just different.
When I first heard this song, I knew it would work as country.

That’s because It was written as a country song as – here’s the original Almost Persuaded that hit #1 on country charts. Etta and blues version is good stuff. Hank Williams Jr does a boogie-woogie version that splits the diff between country and blues

They sound like such different songs. Country puts its own touch, it own emphasis as does Etta with the blues.
I never heard of this singer. I like him.

I never heard June Conquest, didn’t even recognize the name, but I surely recognized her style. It was one of my favorite sounds!
