The Wizard of Oz movie and the song Somewhere Over a The Rainbow came out in 1939 as the Nazis were persecuting at he Jews of Germany. The lyrics was written by Yip Harburg and may have had a meaning more poignant than just wizards and the land of Oz. Here’s an interesting take on the song and even the movie.
