“Caution: Cape does not enable user to fly.”

When I woke up, the house was so cold I jumped right back into bed and nestled under the covers. I stayed there a while and finished my book. Gracie and Fern were with me. Gracie was sleeping in a tight ball, not her usual sprawl. Fern was right beside me. When I finally came downstairs, I saw the house was only 63˚. I turned on the heat. The house is now a cozy 68˚.

The sun is bright again. Outside is even warmer than inside. While the coffee was brewing, I watched the birds through the kitchen window. The feeders are getting heavy traffic. I filled them yesterday with the last of the seed, both sunflower and the mixed seeds and nuts, and they won’t last long. I’ll do a seed run tomorrow.

I wanted to fly like Superman. I still do, but now I want to fly to different places in the world just for a short visit, maybe even just for lunch or dinner. How cool that would be. I’d go to all my favorite places like Quito or Lisbon, maybe do a bit of shopping then have a wonderful dinner before I fly home. You know I’d visit Ghana and surprise everyone. The only problem is some Ghanaians would think I was a witch popping in and out like that. I’d have to be careful picking my landing spots. I wouldn’t need the outfit. The frightened reactions of Ghanaians seeing a white witch fall out of the sky would be exacerbated by me wearing tights, a giant K on my chest and a fluttering cape. I figure Superman did it for effect. I want to be sub rosa.

I suppose I could be Samantha. It would be so much easier just wiggling my nose.

Somewhere deep in the heart of Texas, Brian Wilson is warbling something about surf and cars and a friend of KTCC is enjoying a birthday

So to my friend and yours, im6, I wish many happy returns of the day and hope that his birthday is a blizzard of friends, messages, cake, cards, gifts, American cars, reruns of the movie Beaches and all things Brian Wilson

    Happy Birthday im6

Your post made me laugh. I did the same thing as a kid… 🙂

      Coleen,

That’s funny! Would you have worn a cape?

We could use a broom to rest on if we were Samantha-good for long flights!

    Hi Kat,
I always wanted a magical power to appear and disappear at will. It would have been ever so helpful in my youth. 🙂
Flying to somewhere for lunch or dinner would be cool. It would feel like being a member of the Jet Set without having to worry about the money.

My house was cold this morning and the air outside was even colder. I could see my breath as I walked the dogs. When I checked the thermostat it was only 65 downstairs. It needs to be a little higher for comfortable showering. 🙂
The rest of the day was beautiful. T-shirt weather. Well, for us hardy New England types it was T-shirt weather.

    Enjoy the evening.

      Hi Caryn,
I wouldn’t mind that power either. I could drive people crazy appearing and disappearing.

I would be all over the world for a day or two lunching in exotic places. It would be such fun.

The news did say some places in the state got frost last night. I was surprised how warm outside was as the house was so chilly. I also waited until the house was warm before I took my shower.

I was outside on the deck for a while today. It was lovely.

      Have a great evening!

Could Superman fly without the cape? Could he fly wearing that double breasted suit that Clark Kent always wore? Does Lois Lane and Superman every make it? Does she discover that he’s really faster than a speeding bullet. 🙂 These were the questions that I wanted to know when I was a prepubescent youth. Did George Reeves commit suicide because he never got Lois Lane on TV?

A little rain this morning and sunny this afternoon. High temperature in the upper 80s.

      Bob,
I figure he could fly in anything. The flying suit doesn’t give him the power to fly. Being from Krypton does that. I think the suit would have been uncomfortable in the wind when flying.

Those are perfect questions a prepubescent youth would ask.

I know the 80’s are cooler for you, but that is still too warm for me.

I’ve never liked long flights myself but I’ve always loved the arrival to the destination. So I think I would prefer it the way they do in Harry potter 🙂

Rather windy here this morning and a bit chilly too but I don’t mind. I’ve started a fire in the stove and later today I’ll take a long walk with Nova and Sune to the garage to pick up my car, they have chnged the things that wasn’t approved of in the inspection.

    Have a great day!
    Christer.

      Christer,
I’d prefer it like in Harry Potter or flying like Superman. Flights are just so boring, especially the long ones. You just stuck.

I’m glad you’ll have your car back and the dogs will get a good walk. I hope you wore better shoes on the return walk.
