“The Boxer”: This is one tune for the ages, a piece that mankind would be well-served enclosing in a time capsule.

John,
I was listening to this for the umpteenth time as I was posting it and thought again how wonderful a song it is. Their voices are so perfect together here and the words are amazing as well. I agree with you!!

Hi Kathleen. Ironically I just bought 3 S&G CDs from Amazon this past week before stumbling across your post . My car went up in a fire ball on 9/19, turning several of my CDs to smoke, so the purchase seemed appropriate.

John,
Okay, I think I have bad luck sometimes, but you have me beaten by a long shot. I can see the fire ball in my mind’s eye.
The melted CD’s would have been the worst of it-the car is insured; the cd’s are not. I’m thinking you made a great choice when you bought the 3 S&G CD’s.
When I was in Ghana, I had a limited number of cassettes which I played endlessly. S&G’s Bridge Over Troubled Water was one my family sent to me as it was released while I was in Ghana. The Boxer has a special place in my heart.

There’s no good news here, Kathleen. I dropped comprehensive insurance years ago to save a few $$. No coverage AND I had to pay $160 cash to have the cinder towed away. What a dope I am.

Sorry, John.
My dad bought a brand new car. My brother hit a tree about two weeks later. My bother wasn’t hurt but wished he had been when my father got to him. My dad had made the same decision you did to save money. That taught me to buy comprehensive insurance regardless of the cost.
Paying the $160 is rubbing salt in the wound.
