I was curious if this version (the hit in England) was a cover of the Paul Evans version (the hit in the US) or vice versa. So I went on a little hunt to find out. Well, I never did find out, but I did find THIS… another version of the song by The Lana Sisters. And who should be in that group? A little singer named Mary O’Brien. You may know her better as Dusty Springfield!
im6,
This is a cover version I think though this and Evans’ hit were released the same year.
This was like following a trail of breadcrumbs which finally leads to Dusty. I listened a couple of times and did hear her voice. I’m going to have to find more music which sends you on a scavenger hunt.
