Thanks, Gnu, for this one. I remember how crazy we were for The Beatles when they first appeared. Here were these cute guys with great haircuts and suits and all of them sang and played. I remember when they were on Ed Sullivan and the audience was filled with screaming girls. What I found most amazing was how their music changed as they started writing their own songs. Sgt. Pepper will always be one of my favorite albums.

Thanks, Gnu, for again filling the Wednesday void. I love the songs you choose. They are all songs I know and sang along with. Who would guess The Rolling Stones would last forever. Mick is so young here. He really hasn’t aged well.

      Gnu,
I was a Hermans Hermits fan. It is amazing that they outsold The Beatles in the US in 1965. This is from that year. I always thought Peter was cute in a boyish way.

      Gnu,
I liked The Cowsills. They had some good songs. I know they were like a real life Partridge Family. It is interesting that in this early video the younger two boys are holding guitars in cases. I checked out a few of the later videos and they had added a sister with a tambourine and a mother, drums and a trumpet. One of the boys is just banging the same keys all the time. On a TV special they all played: Bud, Barbra, Bill, Bob, Barry, Paul, John and Susan Cowsell.

      Gnu,
This program started when I was in Arica so I never really became a fan, but I do remember the bus and this theme song and the two youngest kids who didn’t do a whole lot. I remember a tambourine.
