Of all things the “Imperial Bedroom” Tour landed at Meadowbrook in August 1982. Elvis was scattered into such luminaries as Joan Baez, Andy Williams, The DSO, Neil Sedaka, Judy (not Joan) Collins, Victor Borge and Kate and Anna McGarrigle. Andy didn’t bring the Bear – wish that he had
Some 30 years later I cannot pretend that I remember much of the show except perhaps that I had rushed out to buy Bedroom and was thrilled to hear the live performance.
It would be another 20 years before my daughter smashed up a car and I got to hang with Elvis.

My Dear Hedley,
I’ll say again how envious I am of your concert experiences. This tour I would have loved though I do wonder what Andy Williams is doing among them, seems odd.
I admit to a disconnect here-how do your daughter and her accident fit?

my daughter and Mrs MDH were out getting a repair estimate for the destruction job. They ran by the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester and there was Costello. She explained what had happened, that her Father was a big fan and going to the show. Costello gave he two excellent tickets and a bunch of back stage passes
After the show we go back and spend some quality time with Emmylou and then Elvis came out. My daughter “introduced” us and he said “sorry to hear about your car” He was as normal as you can imagine – we had both been bank clerks around the same time and it was the most normal of conversations
