    I wondered why this version sounds so familiar though I couldn’t remember the band’s name. According to wikipedia it was a big hit in Germany in 1994. Kind of an anniversary.

      I had to look this song up as well. When I saw Germany, I knew it needed to be posted. I never thought about the anniversary.

    This is a strange rendition of this country classic song. Back in the 80s and 90s it became the unofficial anthem of Texas. I’m glad that the only time I hear it is during the seventh inning stretch at the Ranger games in Arlington Texas. I can’t remember which company bought the rights to the name of the ball park.

      It really is a strange version. I only chose it as it was a big hit in Germany and I thought Birgit would like it. There were plenty of other, more country versions of this. I hadn’t ever heard it before today.
