The photo looks more like a mock-up to illustrate Pan-Am’s wishes, than a vignette aboard the -707 circa 1958.

minicapt,
I did find it by Googling Pan Am. It was with several similar pictures. I even found some of coach back in the day.

Too bad those days along with Pan Am are long gone. I read a recent quote from the CEO of Ryan Air, a super low cost airline in Europe. He said that there is nothing sexy about flying. It’s basically a bus with wings. As a result of the airline consolidation here in the last few years the fares are going up and the service, what’s left of it, is going down.

Bob,
I loved Pan Am and flew it and TWA often to Europe. Those were the days when the back of the planes were empty, and I could put up the arm rests and sleep across the seats. I agree with planes now being buses with wings though not as comfortable as a bus.
