Lori,
It is Mary’s beautiful voice which is the hardest part of listening and also the best part. I do miss her.

I did not know Mary did a take on “The Water is Wide”. Thanks! Steve Goodman’s live version of this ancient and beautiful tune is my favorite. (unfortunately, not on YouTube)
Heal quickly!

Thanks, Jay
I made it back home but the heat and humidity just abut did me in.
You are welcome. I also have all 3 of Mary’s solo albums made when the trio separated for that while. I’ll see if I can hunt down the Goodman.

It’s from Goodman’s “Artistic Hair”, 1983. I would also recommend “Would You Like to Learn to Dance?” from “Steve Goodman” (oddly, iTunes has the album, but won’t sell this one song? Amazon will, for $.99). Steve did some funky chicken cordon blues, but I like his ballads best.

Jay,
I have some Goodman songs but neither of the two you mentioned. I don’t even think I’ve ever heard either one. Now I’ll hunt a bit!
