My Mother/Mama Told Me (Not to Come): Three Dog Night
Casey Kasem, who entertained radio listeners for almost four decades as the host of countdown shows such as “American Top 40” and “Casey’s Top 40,” died early Sunday.
American Top 40 premiered on July 4th, 1970. The three songs I posted today were three of the top five songs for that week.

Darn! I was hoping you were going to play some obscure song I’d never heard before or some really wacky version. But I guess you were just being the proper New England schoolteacher you once were by changing the name of the song from “Mama…” to “My Mother…” Doesn’t roll off the tongue quite as easily and certainly doesn’t have the same ring to it that just plain Mama does. 🙂 🙂 🙂

im6,
This was how the song was listed on the chart I found and it was also listed this way at e-music where I downloaded it. The Mama was listed as Eric Burton. Maybe I should just use both as the original song was written as Mama.

Carl,
That was okay just as long as you knew what was going on!
