I had a very hard time coming to terms with the new album “The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett” but this track stood out from a group of rather sparse and depressing songs.
Some months ago I drove over to the Royal Oak Box Office and waited in line, on my own, in awful temperatures for the box office to open to buy tickets to see The Eels and was rewarded with two tickets in the front row. The tour is a strings tour (think Blinking Lights) and arrives on Tuesday night. Goodness knows what E will think with two really old people front and center.
The Prince comes princing in tonight and we have a full schedule for him including seeing Angie in Malificent.

MDH,
It was one of your choices, and when I listened, I liked it.
Maybe he’ll be happy one of his fans brought his grandparents from the home.
The Prince will adore his weekend with you.

We must have an Eels fan in our local library. 8 different CDs and 1 DVD are available. So far I’ve listened to Wonderful Glorious and Hombre Lobo. Still lots of music to discover.
Hedley, which of the following would you recommend?
Blinkings lights and other revelations, Eels with strings (DVD), End times, Meet The Eels, The cautionary tales of Mark Oliver Everett, Tomorrow morning, Useless Trinkets.
Have fun at the concert!

Birgit
From that selection go in the following order
1. Blinking Lights and Other Revelations
2. Eels with Strings DVD
3. Meet the Eels
4. Useless Trinkets
5. Tomorrow Morning
6. End Times
You also need to find three of the very early albums “Beautiful Freak”, “Electroshock blues” and “Daisies of the Galaxy”.
Enjoy the journey, I think Blinking Lights is the pinnacle
Here is a terribly young E doing Susan’s House

Thanks, Hedley! This will be a looong Eels journey.
Video is blocked (“It may contain music…”), but I found 2 live versions. Serious song, catchy melody, I like it.

Birgit,
Hedley led me to the Eels and I bought a couple of albums. Daisies of the Galaxy was the first I bought and I liked it enough to buy Useless Trinkets.
