Sample some Switchfoot. Been playing for a bit more than 10 years. Started off Christian Contemporary, but went mainstream a couple years later – though they still mix in a CC song now and then. In simple terms, every album they put out is premium stuff. Could easily be considered the best alt rock band in America

Spaceman,
Again, you have introduced me to a band I haven’t ever heard before this. You chose the song well as I do like this.
I don’t listen to the radio other than in the car and seldom to music on it so I am out of touch with many new bands, even bands 10 years old!

Publicity-wise, Switchfoot, is probably best known for this song, which they wrote for a movie. Nice song, but lighter than my preferences. Had a chance to see them live (outdoors) in about 2004 before I had ever heard of them. It was next to impossible to get within 200 yards of the stage due to crowd size. That should have been a clue for me that they were good.
Switchfoot has an immense following, but their songs are not Billboard type songs, so it’s not surprising that many people are not familiar. Lead singer got injured in surfing accident earlier this week, so proof they California boys.
There aren’t that many “bands” these days that stick around long enough to become well-known.

Spaceman,
I saw this movie. This clip is from the second movie. The Narnia series of books was a favorite of mine, but I don’t remember this song.
I tend to like the lighter songs more so this fits me just fine.

Minicapt,
I think I’ll stick with the happier guy in mine!

The problem is that I recognise the photo from the Seventies; it’s of a Prof in California, or a mid-tier literary type. But I can’t place him yet.
Cheers

Minicapt,
I found it by searching Google images for aged hippie.
