And the b side was “Reason to Believe” and I played them over and over and over. Martin Quittenten, Micky Waller, Pete Sears, all contributed.
I sent my cousin Nicci crazy with this song. Today we still reference Rod Stewart and she and her husband saw him in Basel from very expensive seats (everything in Basel is very expensive) perhaps as a remembrance for me.
Right, fire up Mandolin Wind ! He was Jack the Lad, we was from London so was he , The Faces played R&B.

My Dear Hedley,
This is the first Rod song I remember hearing. I know there must have been more, but this was on the radio all the time. I turned up the volume as I rode and sang along with Rod. This song lead me to buy the album, my good fortune.
Boston wasn’t ever a huge venue for concerts. I missed so much.

Spaceman,
The 1972 Rod was just so amazing with that hair and I remember well his clothes back then though outfits would describe them better.
This is great. It is the Rod I remember the best!
Thanks!!

Spaceman,
I couldn’t figure how I missed this then I realized it was Wednesday my off-day from Coffee. I have to admit, though, I haven’t ever been a huge Elvis fan.

I wasn’t either as a younger feller – but it might have been envy. Have since grown more appreciative that he had a significant impact on music and he was quite good at what he did. And on a personal level, he seemed to be a decent guy and humble.

Spaceman,
I agree totally about his influence on music as he send it off in a different direction.
He seemed surprised by his fame.

Yes, like he was a embarrassed to be the center of attention. And always polite and respectful no matter who he was talking to. I Did get to see him perform once in early eighties, which I’m glad I did in restrospect. Been to Tupelo a few times; nice place, friendly people.

Spaceman,
He always credited his mother. It’s nicely brought up boys who do that!

Oh for sure. Only have 1 mama and she bore us into this world – if that’s not a miracle, nothing is. You can and should judge people by how they respect their mother

Spaceman,
I totally agree. My mother passed away 8 years ago and I still pick up the phone to call her.
