There is some talk that the Davies Brothers will reunite to “commemorate” (tour, superdeluxe boxset, DVD) the 50th anniversary of The Kinks.
Its been a while – I did actually see the Kinks at the (Finsbury Park) Rainbow, way back when.
VGPS and Muswell Hillbillies remain my favs from the boys.

My Dear Hedley,
I haven’t ever seen The Kinks but they are on my favorites list regardless. I don’t know about a reunion. After all this time something has to be lost.
VGPS is also a favorite of mine.

Ray and Dave have been somewhat combative. But they are posting that they are socializing and talking about the 50th year

My Dear Hedley,
Who would have ever thought we’d still be talking about The Kinks in 50 years.

Based on Waterloo Sunset alone they are entitled. But you are so right, these anniversaries arrive and still generate interest. I would be happy to argue why Muswell Hillbillies is better than VGPS (and I would probably be wrong) but it does show how memorable their work was

MDH,
I always liked The Kinks but didn’t appreciate their talents until later. I totally agree about Waterloo Sunset.

Kat, agree with you totally, I saw The Kinks as a singles band, and it was much much later that I appreciated their albums.
