I SOOOOO love this version of the song. Just have to give credit to the lead singer, Naomi Eisenberg. Plus, a definite recommendation for the entire “Striking It Rich” album by Mr. Hicks and Company.
Ah yes, Dan Hicks was originally with “The Charletons” group back in the very beginning of the SF music hippie scene.
He progressed on keeping the folksy type ,whilst other young groups like Jefferson Airplne, Grateful Dead, Moby Grape and etc went on to a rock type style. Dan then formed the group Hot Licks and the that’s when he became nationally known.
I found the HotLicks very hot licks(tunes)
GnuFool,
I didn’t know his background at all. I found him when he was already with the Hot Licks. I really liked their sound so I bought a couple of albums. I am still a fan.

im6,
I tried to find the name of the lead singer and didn’t. I’m glad you’ve added it. I have that album so I know exactly what you mean!
