And out came “Hard Day’s Night” . My Grandma took my sister and I to see it at The Odeon, Bognor Regis. We owned the parlophone green sleeved single and the B side was “You can’t do that”. Lots of 45s in those days, 33s, not so much

My Dear Hedley,
I had just enough allowance money to buy a 45 and have a little left over for the week. My friends and I would sit in her bedroom and use her 45 record player. I had to use the discs on mine to play them on my mother’s hifi. I liked the 45′ as you could pick and choose the song and not get stuck with a whole album.
