I cannot interpret Lennies lyrics but I do think nuns. Pope Francis is speaking with compassion, gentleness and vision.
As they say..wherever you are may your god go with you
Many Happy returns of the day Leonard Cohen

My Dear Hedley,
Pope Francis is amazing me, the eternal skeptic. I have not been a practicing Catholic for a long while because of the church’s stand on birth control and homosexuality among many. During my senior year in college I walked out during a sermon when the priest was using the pulpit to proselytize support for the Vietnam War. I walked out, was accosted by the priest as to why I was leaving in the middle of his sermon. I told him, walked out and haven’t looked back.

Kat,
A gem from one of the albums I still listen to from start to finish. My very favourite, though, is “Stories of the Street.”

Marie,
It is my favorite album of his and I played it until the vinyl wore away. That was the first I knew of Leonard Cohen, and I loved his music and his voice from the very first listen. I’ll go along with Stories of the Street as also a great Leonard!

I was always told “If you can’t say anthing nice, then don’t say anything at all.”
I’d shut up now, but there is some good news for Sept. 21. It’s George Harrison Day in Illinois. Click the link to lift the clouds and clear the gloom: http://wxrt.cbslocal.com/2013/09/21/happy-george-harrison-day/

im6,
Thank you for your self-restraint!
That’s really unexpected good news. Who would have thought any governor would declare George Harrison day in his state. Very cool!!

Oh, I missed Lennies birthday, it’s already the 22th (election day) over here. Enjoyed the music nevertheless, perfect music to have sweet dreams now 🙂

Birgit,
I bet he wouldn’t mind belated birthday greetings. You have Sunday election day? That could never happen here-the outrage would be enormous but shopping on Sunday is okay!

Birgit , I am not sure why you didn’t not get an invitation to the party, balloons, cake, games like pass the parcel and musical chairs….Lennie’s 79th Birthday was quite a bash.
After all the excitement I am a little tired, big Rick abandoned me this morning so I am catching up on The White Queen

Hedley, yesterday I was at a birthday party and I’ve had live music (a cappella music theater), but I forgot to think about Lennie 😦
I’ve just listened to my favorite Lennie song Famous Blue Raincoat and I’ll join next year’s party 🙂
Happy belated birthday Lennie! May you live and sing forever.
Now a short walk to the polling location, unthinkable to vote at any other day than Sunday.

you were missed, a party is not a party, even for Lennie, without the Bochum Belle
