    Saw Canned Heat at the U. Texas Fall Mall Ball in 1971. We were sitting in a big circle of strangers. Somebody broke out some funny tobacco and began to pass it. As a guy to my right was attempting a pass my buddy across from me was shaking his head and mouthing no at me. I refused the pass and then the police fell upon the group and scooped up the poor partakers. They had been standing behind me the whole time. I could have gotten twenty years…..

      Beto,
      I always thought picking up a smoker was overkill. A dealer or a grower was a perfect target, not the guy with a joint. I can’t believe how drastic the penalty was, but then Texas hasn’t been known for being lenient to lawbreakers.

      That was the best refusal!!
