Spaceman,
You are so right.
I think I have just about every album of hers. I chose this song as it seemed to fit a birthday.

Ya. I see that in your post. You write so well; every post composition grade.

One of the best ever Beatle covers.

Lynchie,
I like this cover even better than the original.

I almost agree with you. Judy Collins’ vocal is so pure and she does a terrific, heartfelt, version but, for me, Lennon just edges it. Probably because it showed how great a poet he was. When “Rubber Soul” was released I was just 14 and it was a revelation. 14 songs and every one a gem. How many albums can you say that about?

Lynchie,
When the first Beatles song hit here, it was like a gift from the Gods. Here was music different from what we’d always heard, and I bought the first albums.
I totally agree about Rubber Soul.
I like the Judy version because the song touches me more and more as I get older, and it is Judy’s voice which reflects that for me.
