The melody works really well with both songs.
This is great. I went looking and found quite a bit of information about the song.The melody is also used in Down in the Willow Garden.

Memories… Ramblin’ Jack Elliot was one of the first American folksingers I saw live in concert. He was part of one of the 2 “Folk Friends” concerts with Derroll Adams, British and German folksingers I saw in my hometown. I was still a teenager and it was a great live music experience.

I haven’t been as lucky to have seen him. I’ve seen some of my favorites a few times and some lesser known but wonderful folk singers, but around these parts the pickings are lean!
