“They seek him here
They seek him there
His clothes are loud
But never square”
This was one of the few records I owned, a Pye 45 from 1966 and I played it until the grooves were gone. Cannot say enough nice things about Ray Davies….I should be Lazing on a Sunny Afternoon…what other song could start with “the tax man’s taken all my dough and left me in this stately home”

My Dear Hedley,
This is a favorite. The Kinks had such a neat sound, their own sort of sound, and I eagerly waited every new song and album.

Kat, they were very much a singles band, but I still play Village Green and Muswell Hillbillies.

MDH,
That backgrund music had a sound all of its own-that is what I mean.

Kat, I had it, I just didn’t think in terms of albums until much later years.

MDH,
Our ears grow and learn to distinguish the great from the mundane.
