Phipps Family from the time period of the Carters. Walking the bass strings on the guitar is typical of that time frame.

Thanks, Spaceman, as The Phipps Family is new to me. They do have almost the same sound as the Carter Family.

Oh yes they are quite similar in style and sing a lot of the same songs, but the Phipps’ are not nearly as well known. They are quite good. I may told you before, but I have collected over the years a very extensive library of bluegrass and old-time religious songs . “Keep on the Sunny” isn’t really religious, but it’s close enough. I have 10 different versions of it.
But seeing that it’s Sunday and all, here’s a very lovely and quite modern hymn I hope you like

Spaceman,
Lovely is the perfect description for this song. The music is simple and beautiful. Thank you.

Owl City usually sings pop stuff. This is the best known. Silly lyrics & vid, but hard not to like just a bit. Come to think of it, hardly seen any fireflies so far this year. Typically there’s plenty by this time. The Spring was rather cool – perhaps they are behind normal schedule.

Spaceman,
I not only like this song, I liked the video as well. I love the lights but I loved the toys even more. Thank you for the introduction to Owl City!
