It was funny to hear (serious Folk queen) Joan Baez sing this song. Couldn’t find it on YouTube, so I had to brush the dust off my old Baez mono vinyl…

I never knew she recorded this song. If you gave me a true/false question about her and it, I’d answer false. This just doesn’t say Joan Baez to me.

The original “in San Francisco” must be very rare, I’ve never seen it on a second hand market. My vinyl is a cheap German mass pressing.

Kat, thanks for finding Joan Baez version in MP3. I have loved this version since the first time I heard it waaaay long ago but never had the vinyl. Probably because I was like 10 years old, had no money and couldn’t convince my parents that this was good music. I love The Coasters, too, but the only thing I have on vinyl by them is Run, Red, Run. I forget what’s on the other side.

It was actually fairly easy-I snagged the whole album. I have several of hers, but I didn’t have that early on except on vinyl. I love finds on-line!
