Mr E has finally arrived at Chateau MDH. Now I can see if Wonderful Glorious really is.

My Dear Hedley,
This is from that very same album. What do you think?
February 12, 2013 at 6:34 pm
Not sure…I need to play the disc through…your thoughts ?

MDH,
I like almost all of the album. This is one of my favorites. I don’t want to lead you so I’ll let you listen without knowing what I think except for this.

Ok, it’s sitting on the kitchen along with Rumours Deluxe

Let me know!!

Bombs Away Kat, Been quiet as a church house mouse.
On the Ropes is a standout track and sits very well coming right after Peach Blossom.
First plays are always difficult and I dont expect immediacy of access. With Mark Everett it is always exciting to hear something new, I have the double CD version and my drive to work allowed me to play most of the first disc. I have seen E disappear in a blaze of reverb and I have seen him with strings. Blinking Lights is a masterpiece. I will play Wonderful Glorious

My Dear Hedley,
I have Wonderful Glorious. It was sent to me by a friend, and I have listened a couple of times and am mulling the music!
February 13, 2013 at 10:30 am
Single disc or double ?
Yes it will take quite a lot of mulling as some of it is clearly not KTCC friendly.
One of my problems is that I always have a stack of stuff that I haven’t played so my attention span tends to be rather short as I move on to something new
Busy working on my road trip to Columbus to see The Who and Quadrophenia – Backstage passes seem to be very likely so I have to decide what I take to get signed, it will be quite an adventure

Single disc!
You are right bout it not being KTCC friendly but I pick and choose the songs which are.
It will be a mighty adventure
February 13, 2013 at 2:10 pm
I dont hear a lot of KTCC on the discs.

MDH,
My taste is changing and expanding!
February 13, 2013 at 7:09 pm
Oooooohhhhhh, I did go through both discs and they need a bunch more plays.
With the new Bowie coming there will be plenty to discuss in the context of your expanding tastes

Kat
Not sure if you saw the obit this week for Rick Huxley, he was one of the original Dave Clark Five. Mike Smith and Denis Payton pre deceased him, leaving only Lenny Davidson and Dave Clark himself.
Once upon a time they were the Tottenham sound, now they are nearly gone
February 13, 2013 at 4:51 pm
My Dear Hedley,
I did not see the obit or I would have posted a DC5 song. It will be one for tomorrow. I always liked the Dave Clark 5!
February 13, 2013 at 7:11 pm
It was funny, it was characterized as the Tottenham Sound to rival the Mersey Sound.
We were always amused by “I’m feeling Glad all over”……lucky Glad. School boy humor never goes out of favor.

MDH,
I did not even think of it except as being happy. School boy humor certainly differs from school girl!
