Mark,
I liked both of these even more than The Doors. Jose’s version has always been a favorite, but the second one, with Daryl Hall, was the best of all of them. His voice was superb for this song. I’d love to hear him sing the whole of it.
‘That ending blew me away!!

I vote for José’s version. I was always a fan of The Doors’ version until that summer day in 1968 when the JF version hit my Volkswagen Beetle’s radio and I was just blown away by the reimagining of LMF. It remains one of my favorite songs of all time and has to be in my top 10 cover versions of all time. In fact, the entire “Feliciano” album is simply stellar, with excellent cover versions of “California Dreamin’,” “Don’t Let The Sun Catch You Crying,” “Here, There and Everywhere,” “And I Love Her,” etc. It gets 5 stars from im6:

im6,
I ended up not having a problem with Amazon. I opened it in another window so maybe that made a difference.
That album is new to me, and I haven’t heard him sing the songs you’ve mentioned. Looks like I’ll hunt that down. I still have some money in my iTunes account.
The album is downloading now. I’ll let you know.

Hmmm. wonder why the Amazon link acts so wacky?

You are going to love that album. It is a real treasure!
BTW why not advertise my Christmas songbook for all the folks who will not ever be able to play the guitar like that :))
