Pet and I were both born in Epsom, Surrey, 22 years apart and she is older than me. Her folks worked at one of the more difficult hospitals in the Epsom Cluster. Mine didn’t but we knew many who did.
I love that she performed in the entrance of Bentalls with an orchestra. Pet never really fitted in to the 60s with Cilla, Millie, Sandie and, of course Dusty. But Pet had those songs, TV shows and was always around popular music

My Dear Hedley,
I almost played Dusty this morning but decided on the Pet song instead. I had you in mind as I know you’ve always been a fan of Miss Petula.
I, however, always think of Petula as part of the 60’s when musical genres were discombobulated, when fusing one style with another was the style.
