The China Clipper was the first commercial flights across the Pacific from San Francisco to Manila in 1935. The Golden Gate bridge was under construction. The Martin flying boats were the pride of Pan American Airways until WWII. The inaugural trip left Alameda on November 22nd and arrived in Manila on the 29th.

If I could go back in time, I’d ride the China Clipper or really any of Pan Am’s Clipper flights. I always wished I traveled in those days!.
