     Lori,
     David was also the artist who wrote the song.

     John Denver also covered it, which is the version I grew up with.

       I’ve never heard the John Denver version and didn’t even know he’d released it. I only know David’s. I always think of it as his song. I’ll hunt down the Denver.

   Another lovely version is by Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy (off their “Collection”). Among my daughters’ favorites when they were young. Happy spring, Kat!

     Jay,
     I went and downloaded Tommy Makem’s and Laim Clancy’s version and it’s lovely. I’m listening to it now. I have always loved David’s version but I think I like this equally. It’s so different.
