I’m Ghana get you in a taxi, honey
I have uploaded all the photos of my trip. My first thought had been to do it in pieces like Ghana I, Ghana II and up to whatever, but I decided just to add to the first batch and keep going. It took a good part of the day! Enjoy!

I have decided that discretion is the better part of valor and will pass this time
Meanwhile America’s Team handed it out to KC today, get on the train while you can..Suh. Our Detroit Tigers will be spending a pleasant couple of weeks waiting for the playoff to start..oh and Tottenham thrashed Liverpool 4-0

My Dear Hedley,
It sounds as if you had a wonderful day sans crocodile. I’m glad for your discretion! I would have hated to be the cause of nightmares with the sound of a crocodile with a cock ticking.

I did “peak”… Some of those pictures were completely inappropriate π

Great photos! I am always amazed that the people of third world countries always look happy in photos while doing their work or playing. Africa is ripe for an economic boom if only they can begin to develop the resources that they have instead of allowing their petrol dictators to steal the national wealth and stash it in Swiss Bank accounts.
Is the white woman in the group shot in photo 292 you?

Bob,
Ghana hasn’t yet begun to draw enough barrels to make money from their oil, but they are determined not to become Nigeria with its in-fighting, its very rich and its very poor.
That would be me with my students on mylast night in town. I am wearing the dress they gave me over my clothes just to get it in the shot.

Hi Kat,
Great pictures! I did the slideshow thing and saw so many strange and wonderful things.
Was that squash growing on the thatch roof?
No picture of you holding the crocodile’s tail?
I didn’t realize the IRS had a branch office in Ghana. I saw it there right above the FedEx office.

Hi Caryn,
I didn’t even notice the IRS. I have to think it isn’t ours.
If you do the pictures singly, you’ll see some of the comments I made.
I think they were just flowers on the roof, and I loved the way they looked si I snapped away. The digital camera gave me a freedom to take anything I wanted. If it didn’t look good, zap.
No, I held off on the crocodile, didn’t want to scare anyone.

My DEar Hedley,
Just remember, they aren’t real. Well, they are real but you’re nowhere near them. They are too busy eating the chickens to care about the gawking humans.

Crocs eat everything including people..I am not buying in to your chicken theory
September 19, 2011 at 6:47 pm
My Dear Hedley,
The croc had already eaten. You would have been perfectly safe! I even held his tail. He just stood there.

Kat, I howled at your typo in the first reply up top. I looked and looked and didn’t see any reptilian with such a problem in the photos. I hope you enjoyed my separate replies tonight…plus the reference to the Carol Burnett video. That was ALSO a howler.

Rick,
Does one actually tick? Perhaps it was hidden in the very tall grass.
I loved your comments!
