“What has she done, rather than bitch, gripe and complain?”

Weather: the same as the last two days, but I think I saw the sun for about a minute though it might have been an illusion, sort of like seeing water in the dessert.

Today is my gripe day. Three straight days of rain tend to sour my mood, and everything starts to bother me. Yesterday I went shopping for a few things. The aisle pigs were at their worst. Carriages were parked in the middle while the shoppers checked out the shelves. I couldn’t go left and I couldn’t go right around the carts. I said, “Excuse me,” so many times I lost count. Most people said sorry and moved their carts, but in the next aisle there they were, the same aisle pigs, blocking any sort of forward movement. The worst were the abandoned carts sitting in the middle of the aisles while their owners explored other aisles looking for forgotten items. I wanted to hide the carts, but I didn’t. Getting caught would have been embarrassing though I could have pulled the I thought it was an abandoned cart card.

We have a bike path which is used by the world. Some are walkers or runners, others are carriage pushers, many walk their dogs and a few ride bikes. I have noticed that serious bike riders, the ones dressed for the Tour de France with their clingy shorts, never use the bike path. They must think it for the training wheel crowd. Instead, they make cars go all the way around them. It must be an ego thing. The same  goes for the sidewalk on the other side of the street. Kids, mostly teens, walk in the road, and they walk two or three abreast. Cars go around them too. It must be a control thing.

I see people walking their dogs in my neighborhood, and I notice their hands are only holding the leashes. Where are the poop bags?

Okay, I’m done. This has been cathartic. The sun is even beginning to appear.

    Hi Kat,
A gripe day is a good thing to have now and then. I do agree about the bicycle people except I feel that they are vehicles and they belong in the road, not on the sidewalk. The tour de France wannabees don’t use the bike path because there are too many other people in it and that screws their time.
Teenagers have always been like that about walking in the road. It’s arrogance. I remember. 🙂
Rainy here still. I did see the sun for two seconds but it fled when it saw me watching.

      Hi Caryn,
I’d agree about bikes being vehicles, but it is a bike path built for them. It goes all around town and then you can take it all the way to P-Town should you be so inclined. I did it twice, and that’s more than enough.

Some of those Tour de France people aren’t in any hurry. I think they just want to look professional.

The sun has already gone here too. Like you, I got caught looking.

I never got the chance to have a gripe day, even though it started out cloudy and drizzly here. But suddenly the sun came shining through the clouds and it got fairly warm as well 🙂

I went shopping as well but I was almost alone in the huge super market since most people either isn´t sober yet or have huge hang overs 🙂 🙂 🙂 Midsummer eve is one of our, if not the biggest holiday. I went in to Skara after shopping and I think You´ll like my photographs today.

I´ve also finished a little project I´ve been thinking of some time but I won´t show that until tomorrow. It´s not beautiful in any sense but it works 🙂 🙂

Have a great day and may the sun shine over You!
    Christer.

      Christer,
I needed to gripe. The weather has been awful. I grocery shopped a little yesterday and have to again tomorrow as I have company coming on Monday. Later I have to plan my menu and a few activities. They want to go whale watching so that will take up a whole day.

I’ve already cleaned, only making their beds is left.

      Thanks for the sun wish!

By the way, I agree with You about those Tour de France bikers! They only want to look cool. I think it should be allowed to just hit them and teenagers just a little to scare them away from the road 🙂 🙂 🙂

That must be a small grocery store you go to. I never had that problem and I do the shopping for the family. Well, just Ann and myself now, but still no hassles. I just don’t like the long lines at the cash register. You would think one would open up two other cash registers when the manager sees the logjam.

      Z&Me,
It’s a darn big Stop & Shop where the aisle pigs hang out. They just park those carriages and go hunting for their items. My sister has pretty much the same experience but at a different store. The violators seem to be older, the age of privilege for many.

    Kat,
A rant day. I think everyone should rant for at least an hour a day and then perhaps break into a song. Just so it doesn’t build up and come screaming out at the least expected moment. It was a fine spring day here, and I actually went to see a play– a very odd one, performed by a small theater company close by entitled Down a Dirt Path..Someone else has been doing my shopping because of my pain issues but I agree that aisle pigs would annoy me. As far as bikers go, well OY! Some here are well trained, but those by campus are not, and often they don’t wear helmets, don’t have a good light so we can see them and zig-zag. Another rant is those who have a cell phone implanted in their ear and don’t pay attention to the lights, the walk ways, etc. Whew! Breath.
    Waving,
    Lori

      Lori,
I find an occasional rant cleansing. All the toxins are released and life can go along on its merry way.

My sister, my brother-in-law and niece are coming tomorrow so I have much to do today. I even have to dare to food shop with my company food list in hand.

The sun was here for a bit, but it’s hiding again!

    Kat ma petite.
Being an aisle pig doesn’t seem to be a problem here. Shoppers seem to be aware of the problems this will cause, thus move out of the way. Better shop here instead.
As for the rain, just watch the video I sent you (lol)

    • katry's avatar katry Says:

      Pierre, my sweet,
It must be an American phenomenon, these aisle pigs. They do move when I ask, but their behavior seems ingrain and reappears in the next aisle. I have to shop today. I am preparing myself by breathing deeply and chanting.

I haven’t changed the setting on my computer just waiting to watch that video!
