“There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort.”
Today I am behind my time as I had an early meeting in Falmouth. It was about the Peace Corps and the Cape Cod group celebrating the fiftieth here. The festivities will be while I’m in Ghana, but I’m glad to know there will be a celebration.
I’ll let you guess the weather today. If you said cloudy-you win. It isn’t raining but it is a possibility later today and tomorrow. It is 60Β°, warm, even without the sun. This has been such a wet month here, even more than usual. My flowers love it. I found two tulips in the front garden in the bud stage. The spawn of Satan missed them last fall. I can’t wait until they bloom. I consider them precious survivors from the al fresco dining of those squirrels.
I really haven’t much to say today. I did wish I’d brought my camera with me this morning as I saw several places worth the stop for a picture. I seldom get over to that side of the cape even though it really isn’t all that far away. I have developed a bit of a isolationist syndrome. Even Hyannis sometimes seems too far off for the trip. Everything I need is right at hand or just a short drive away. I find it easier to travel far, far away by plane than drive to Hyannis. With summer coming, I’ll even be more reluctant to go anywhere.
Well, I have a couple of books from the library I want to start and I’m thinking an iced coffee might taste just perfect right now so I’m done!

Sunny and warm (72F) here again, but now comes the clouds and rain they say.
I was just waiting for You to post Your blog so that I could go to bead after reading it π
I have a couple of tulips wit buds too and IΒ΄m surprised that the deers doesnΒ΄t eat them now when they have the chance π They seems to eat everything else including poisonous hellebores π π
Have a great day!

Christer,
The day stayed warm, but it never did get all that pretty. Today has started with sun but the paper said rain. Yesterday the rain held off until night time.
Rabbits eat the tops of the flowers around here. I see that little brown one munching on my flowers!

We are booked out on the beach as the Endeavors final flight is drawing dignataries from all over the world. The Obama family will be here and over 500 press outlets already arriving. You can see a cluster of activity from the beach line where the Port is and today the Disney boat was in port. It’s going to be exciting to watch but we plan to watch it at home. Like you, it’s 30 mins away but for some reason too far to fight the crowds.

Z&Me,
I’d be right there watching too. It is exciting to be right in the middle of historic moments.
I’d probably almost camp to find a spot or, like you, watch on TV.

I know how you feel. I have developed a hermit attitude over the first year and a half of my retirement. There is one day a week that I have to be somewhere and sometimes I resent even that though it is a pleasant appointment. It’s the having to be there on a certain day at a certain time that I resent.
My peonies that I thought I killed because I didn’t plant them correctly last fall have decided to grow. I’m very happy. They are offspring of plants that have been growing in the yard since 1920, I think. I gave some to a friend and then mine died. My friend gave some back to me so the tradition continues.

Caryn,
I hold all my errands for a single day so I’m around and about for a few hours. That sours me on having to go out the rest of the week. Today is dump day, and I just tried to do a wash. That went fine but the dryer doesn’t tumble. That sucks-repair man coming tomorrow!
I love the tradition of passing flowers. I have lilies of the valley and violets from my mother’s house.

Goodness, Kat. Are you turning into a curmudgeon? π

Never, Rick
I am just content to be out one day and home the next. With the summer coming, I’ll be out two nights a week and busy being the consummate hostess. The winter is for regeneration.
