“You’ll find boredom where there is the absence of a good idea”
It’s in the mid-30’s and is again a bright and sunny day which feels a bit warmer than yesterday. I went out for my Sunday breakfast and was amazed at how crowded the roads were. I guessed people wanted all their chores done before the football playoffs this afternoon. I have one more chore I couldn’t do this morning as the store was closed when I went by it. I’ll go before the Pats play this afternoon. The game starts at 4:30.
Today is one of those not so much on my mind days. My muse has left for a warmer clime, and I don’t blame her. The snow has lost its glamor. It’s dirty along the roadside, pockmarked from the rain and filled with boot, shoe and dog prints. It needs to go rather than be replenished.
Yesterday the Earth was nearly destroyed by ice, a black hole, meteors, the sun, a behemoth disguised as a mountain and a volcano. Luckily, our hero, always a male, was always on hand to save the day, but it was usually the female scientists who first noticed something was amiss.
I checked the Peace Corps Ghana site to see if there was any information about the 50th anniversary. There wasn’t. I’m getting anxious about the possibility of missing another cheaper priced flight as I have missed two already.
This entry seems like the sale table in a store where everything is marked down to 75%. Usually that table is a mishmash of items including, months later, Christmas items which never sold. It’s just one of those days.

Hi Kat,
I went out yesterday and was amazed at how crowded everything was and how stupidly everyone was driving. It was as if driving through tunnels of snow had robbed everyone of all common sense. I didn’t know there was a play-off game today but that explains the grocery store madness.
Talking to other people it seems everyone’s muses have gone off this week. Probably have had enough of the cold, snowy or rainy weather and have gone to warmer climes.

Hi Caryn,
There were two games and alas, my Pats lost theirs. I cursed as I am not a Jets fan.
People needed their snacks, their pizza and their what-nots.
I don’t blame all those muses!

I think we reached well over 40F here today 🙂 The snow is rapidly sinking down to a thin but strong layer that even I can walk on now. It will stay warm for yet another day or two they say.
I do like those catastrophe movies 🙂 and I wonder how the audience would react if it was the woman that saved the world? Would be nice for a change especially since women are the ones that keep on studying now days 🙂
I´m hoping that they have put out gravel on the roads outside the village, they have in the village anyway. I really don´t want to drive to work on ice tomorrow morning!
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Christer,
Our snow is like that-crusted enough for walking on it. I do like the crunch sound as you walk.
I think that nowadays people would be much more receptive to women being the driving force. We have moved forward on that front I’d like to think.
We’re all ice here too. It is a trek fraught with danger when I walk to the car.

I doubt Brady has a damn thing to worry about. No team can beat NE this year. It’s all so boring knowing who the Super Bowl winner will be. But the last line about waiting out stores for prices to come down. My wife wanted 8 candles which would fit our old holder and found them a Dollar Store for $3 a piece, no way. You had to buy four in a package. They they dropped the price to $2 and still no takers. Long story short, they opened the packages and laid them on a discount table for .50 a piece. Makes me worry about what things are worth these days. Enjoy the game. I’m going into my NFL room to check on it.

You were saying?

S,
Zoey and me? or me?

Z&Me,
I figure he should have worried! Bad! Bad Pats!! I figure I’ll have heartburn later.
I didn’t get a chance to hit all the after Christmas sales. Usually by this time I have a few stocking stuffers tucked away for next year. I’m still behind for this Christmas and now I’m behind for next!

Kat – Zoey and Me was saying it was preordained the Pats would be in the Stupor Bowl.
Of course that was *before* the game was played … hence my sarcastic “You were saying?” reply. 😉
