Comin’ Down in the Rain: Nanci Griffith
I have played nearly all the songs from this album, Other Voices, Other Rooms, released in 1993. I found the album when it received the Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 1994.
None of the songs are hers. They are by songwriters who have influenced her career. This one was written by Buddy Mondlock.

Nanci’s copy of Truman Capote’s “Other Voices, Other Rooms” did seem remarkably untouched on the cover of her album of the same name but maybe its theme reflects the yearning that Nanci crystalizes on this CD.
I know that it is a long way from Clare to here but I continue to enjoy Ms G and this very special record.

My Dear Hedley,
Coincidentally, while this song was loading for posting, it was From Clare to Here I chose for listening. It is one of my favorites on the album.
I ended up buying several of her albums because of this one.
