Ol’ 55: Tom Waits

This is from Tom Waits' first album, Closing Time, which was released in 1973. Waits wrote the song, but his wasn't the first version I heard. It was the Eagles which is still the one I remember best.

    i love this song, but like you, my first experience was with another artist: sarah mclachlan. i’m curious what you think of her drunken version…?

      I’m not a big fan of her version and I am a mclachlan fan. I think all the others I heard first were much better.
